Submitted first VAT return - not showing on HMRC web site

I submitted my first VAT return last night, and used quickfile to upload it.

However when I go on the HMRC online site, it says my account balance is £0.00.

At first I thought maybe it hadn’t uploaded, but when I checked “submitted returns” it was there. It it usual for the money you owe to not show straight away on the HMRC online site?

Hi @Paulwk1972

Some reports for HMRC do take a few days to appear. I know this can be the case with RTI submissions too from other software providers.

To confirm if it has been received, I’d phone HMRC and check with them. We’re not aware of any issues with this service, so it should have gone through all OK.

Yeah I will check back on Monday and see if it’s there.

I put mine in on Tuesday via QuickFile and it didn’t appear in my list of submitted returns on HMRC until Thursday morning.

There’s a HMRC Correlation ID displayed on the VAT return preview screen, so they’ve received and acknowledged the return. I’m not sure however what delays exist on there side in terms of updating the liability.

Hi,

I have tried to submit a VAT return and it won’t let me and says you are looking into it? Do I need to do anything as the deadline is getting closer.
I have a screen shot if that helps?

Hi @Tym777,

I have sent you a private message to help you resolve this
