My Return is Saved but how do I Submit it to HMRC? Thanks.
The online submission happens at the point where you create the return, if it says “saved” that means you created a return before you’d enabled your online filing settings, or else you untucked the checkbox to submit the return online.
Assuming you are set up for online filing (signed up with HMRC and linked your tax account to QuickFile) then you’ll need to roll back the saved return and prepare a new one in its place. There should be a list of VAT periods on the main vat returns section of QuickFile saying “open” or “filed”. If you don’t see these then your tax account isn’t linked properly and you’ll need to delete the link and try again.
