Submitting year end accounts to HMRC

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to submit the year end accounts to hmrc directly from Quickfile just like other provider?

Thanks

Hi @alid

Submitting documents to HMRC through QuickFile isn’t possible at the moment I’m afraid.

Hi, thanks for this. I did not mean as a document though. I meant as an online submission.
What I want to ask is if it is possible to file corporate tax year end accounts online with quickfile.

I cannot see quickfile listed in hmrc website:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/corporation-tax-commercial-software-suppliers/corporation-tax-commercial-software-suppliers

I do not want to end up getting another software and switch from quickfile.

Thanks

Apologies for any confusion.

Currently, QuickFile doesn’t offer the ability to submit any forms except for VAT Returns and EC Sales List. We do offer additional services such as dormant company accounts and confirmation statement submissions, but these can’t be done via your dashboard.

Quickfile does not produce statutory accounts to be filed with Companies House, nor does it prepare Corporation Tax returns for filing to HMRC.

is this still the case? Asking as HMRC wants everyone to use software from 2026

Hello @Michael_Price

Thank you for getting in touch.

As you’re likely aware, HMRC and Companies House have announced plans to close their joint corporate tax filing service by April 2027. This change will require businesses to use commercial software to file Company Accounts and Corporation Tax returns separately.

At this time, QuickFile has no current plans to develop a Corporation Tax and Accounts filing service for limited companies.

However, you do have two options to consider going forward:

  1. File through one of our panel accountants – This is a straightforward and fully managed service, with fees starting at approximately £100 + VAT per company.
    Year-end accounts price comparison service
  2. Use a third-party self-filing service – HMRC maintains a list of approved commercial software providers, which you can access at the following link (please refer to packages that are “suitable for self-filers”):
    Corporation Tax Commercial Software Suppliers

We remain fully committed to adopt the planned rollout of HMRC’s Making Tax Digital program for Limited Companies. Regretably due to the depth and complexity of the Corporate Tax and Accounts Filing regime, we are unable to develop software for the existing gateway.

If you have any further questions or need help connecting with an accountant, feel free to reach out.

HMRC is recommending Quickfile for MTD submissions, specifically “Quarterly updates” and “Self Assessment tax return”. Here’s the page on HMRC’s website - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/find-software-thats-compatible-with-making-tax-digital-for-income-tax#software-available-now

The link on the HMRC page leads to this page: https://www.quickfile.co.uk/making-tax-digital-income-tax-and-self-assessment

Please can you confirm - is the HMRC page correct, and can you explain how the MTD submission works using Quickfile?

Thanks.
