Tagging multi-invoice payments automatically

Is there a way to tag income and apply it to the oldest invoice for a customer. I have a customer paying her bills throughout the month so the amounts vary and do not match the invoice total as such. There is also two bills on the go at one time.

When you enter the bank payment, click the ‘Tag Me!’ button, and then:

Select ‘Payment from a Customer’

Select the multiple invoice option:

Enter the clients name:

Then, all the outstanding invoices should be shown - with the eldest at the top. Simply keep ticking boxes until you run out of funds to allocate

In my example, invoice 000058 is only part paid, so part of the balance is still outstanding.

There isn’t a way to do it automatically as far as I’m aware.

Although if you look at bank tagging rules, there may be way to tag it to an account ti be assigned later if the description is the same every time
