For many years I have been using SA2000 to file correctly tagged returns with both hmrc and companies house.
They have versions for companies, individuals and trusts and for a company it’s about £30
I have no connection with the company but you can download the software for free and try it as you only have to pay when you want to actually submit your accounts.
It runs on an excel spreadsheet and it isn’t the most user friendly (in fact it really needs someone to build a good user interface over the very complex set of rules which have to be updated by the provider each year) but it does the job and it is a great option for those of us who have small companies with low profits (at least until QF can build something better into their software).
