Transfer to a new quickfile account

Hi there,

I am in the process of switching my business type from web design to photography and want to change my Quickfile name from my current design company name to my personal name so as not to confuse my new photography clients. However, I don’t want to change my actual business name (and bank account etc) as I am VAT registered and it will be a lot of hassle so would prefer to just change my Quickfile name - as in designcompany.quickfile.co.uk TO myname.quickfile.co.uk.

I’m happy to open a new Quickfile account but don’t want to lose my existing client/invoices/VAT return data etc. So can I just change my Quickfile name? Or can I open a new account and transfer the information from the old one into it? I’ve got a power user account if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your help.
David

Hi David

You can change your unique QuickFile web address in your account settings. It would mean that everything stays as it is (all invoices, clients, suppliers, bank accounts etc all remain).

The only thing that you will notice is where a client has previously been sent an email, their ‘view an invoice’ link will stop working as it would direct them to the web address at the time of sending.

To change the web address, simply go to Account Settings >> Company Settings

Hope that helps!
