UK Property income shared ownership and MTD submissions

Hi, since the announcement of MTD i have been using quickfile for my uk rental property income. we have 2 properties shered equally between myself and my wife. i have used 1 account for all income and expenses.

my query is, when it comes to making the submissions, do i need to link both my and my wifes HMRC accounts directly in the quickfile account and then do i need to sign up for 2 poweruser accounts, or is it easier to use an Affinity account? guidance on shared property ownership submissions would be appreciated. i have searched previous support question and found a few older ones asking the same but nothing recently answering this.

thanks.

Hello @Tom_Phillips

Both You and your wife would need your own QuickFile account adn power user subscriptions.

The data can be recorded on 1 account.

You would create a draft submission then apportion 50% (if thats the split) and share the submission with a linked account (your wife account number).

50% of the figures would then appear in her account for her to do her submission
