When I try to update a company or contact via Zapier using the action “Create new client” it just creates a duplicate of the existing record. I can’t find any information/rules for when it will update the record or when it will create a new record. If I run the same zap twice without changing anything it creates a duplicate of the record.

Apologies for the delayed reply.
I don’t believe updating a client record is supported at this time through Zapier. It may be possible to produce something similar with Zapier’s webhook actions and tap straight into the QuickFile API, although I’m not sure how feasible this is with the authentication side.
