Ive been using quick file on a windows based pc, and uploads worked fine…now I’m on a mac and for some reason they won’t upload - help please?
Hi @Stevep
What browser are you using on the Mac? The uploading of files would be handled by the web browser on your end and sent to us in the same way, regardless of browser.
safari…is it that it saves the csv’s in mac’s ‘numbers’ rather than windows ‘excel’?/
I’m not familiar with how the file is saved on a Mac. Would you be able to send me a copy in a private message please (click my name and then ‘Message’), and I’ll take a quick look for you?
can’t quick file is telling me its not an authorised file type?
It certainly would give you an error if it uploaded successfully.
Do you have issues uploading files to any other sites? Sending it in a private message would certainly test this.
Not sure if I do have trouble uploading elsewhere - will try…
In the meantime, could i email you a copy ?
Hi again…I’ve just found how to convert the file ( what I thought was a csv from my bank) to an actual csv on my mac - and uploaded it fine…
thanks for your help anyway
Sometimes I’ve seen Mac programs create a CSV with old-style classic Mac OS line endings (just a carriage return character) rather than modern Mac OS X/Linux style (just a line feed character) or Windows style (CR+LF). You might need to set an option to specifically select Windows line endings to make it work.
