V2 Rest API - creating reusable PO items

We are using the new v2 REST API and need to create reusable Purchase Order Inventory items — i.e. the items shown under Purchases → Purchase Orders → Purchase order inventory management — with purchase nominal codes such as 5000/5020.

POST /inventory appears to create sales inventory and rejects purchase nominal codes. Is there a supported v2 REST endpoint or parameter for creating Purchase Order Inventory items?

If not, can the legacy Item_Create method create a Purchase Order Inventory item rather than a Sales Inventory item, and if so what field identifies it as purchase inventory?

Our initial goal is to ensure that our new REST API matches the functionality of the original API, which in this case, it does. I appreciate that doesn’t help you in this case, but I will refer it to our development team to see if we’re able to add support for purchase order items, too.

In short - not possible at the moment, but we’ll see what we can do.
