Hi, I have deregistered from VAT - how do I deregister VAT obligations from Quickfile please?

Hello @J_S

Once you have submitted your final vat return you can go into Reports > Vat Returns > Settings and remove your VAT number.

This would then disable the VAT features.

Thank you - it won’t let me do it- once I remove the VAT number; I just get a message “Please enter a valid UK VAT number”

There is still an open vat period for 1 Mar 2026 - 21 Mar 2026 (pulled from your HMRC tax account).

This needs to be submitted prior to removing the vat number.

I submitted and the status says “submitted” also.

I still get the same error message.

Sorry, there was a tick box in Account Settings > Company Settings which needed to be unticked.
