VAT error and rollback issue

Hi

Was just filing my VAT return but during the submission there was an error message. It said i should rollback and resubmit. After rollback i couldn’t resubmit and it apparently was submitted. However the status of the return is rollback on the returns list and can’t find a way to re-submit it. I saw a previous post that said to untick the box and resubmit it but this option is not available as when i click prepare vat returns it says submitted.

Really don’t know what to do now, any advice would be great

Hello @scoobeski

I have seen this happen before when we have send data to HMRC but have not had the response from their servers

I would check with HMRC that they have a successful submission.

If they have you would need to “Save” the return in QuickFile so the figures don’t go into your next period

To do this go into Reports >Vat Returns > Settings.

Set your HMRC account to “No Electronic Filing”

Re run the vat return, this time you will be prompted to enter the date range as its not looking at your HMRC account.

Ensure the figures are correct and “Save” (it will always show as saved for this period due to the none receipt of confirmation from HMRC)

Go back into settings and change your HMRC account back.

Thanks for that. It had been submitted to HMRC so just submitted again with no electronic filing. Thats the bit that stumped me, couldn’t see where that was to turn it off
