VAT filing details user ID and branch number

I have been filing my VAT online using the hmrc web site for many years. I want to enable online filing with Quickfile instead now. I do not know what to enter under “VAT settings” to achieve this.

For “user ID” do I use the government gateway ID that I already use to log in to file my return online at present?

How do I find out the “branch number”?

Yes, however these settings are for the “old style” online filing service which HMRC have offered for several years, not for the new process under MTD. If you need to use MTD the process is different and involves “connecting” your tax account to QuickFile rather than providing your gateway ID and password.

How do I find out the “branch number”?

If you don’t know what it is supposed to be then the answer is almost certainly “0”.
