VAT Payment not reflecting

I have completed VAT for March and made a payment on the same day. HMRC has confirmed that it is reflected on my VSAT account (by phone - their online no longer shows payment apparently???). They have advised that all payments must now be viewed through the MTD software and that platform needs to ‘open that up’ to me. It still shows as unpaid on my MTD account through Quickfile.
What more do I need to do to get the system to recognise that payment has been made?

Hello @Drew_Mendoza

Have you recorded the vat payment on your bank account in QuickFile?

Manually you would record a Money out transaction on the bank in QuickFile the tag it as “Tax Payment to HMRC”.

If you are importing bank statements or using a bank feed you would just tag the transaction as mentioned above.

Thanks Steve, I will take a look at that and update.

However, as this is a manual process that I would update, how would I confirm that HMRC actually received the payment if their HMRC website no longer reflects payment updates (as per the person I spoke with at HMRC)?

Hello @Drew_Mendoza

When you make payments to HMRC it does show online (see example below)

The payments you make to them would also get pulled through and show on your HMRC tax account in QuickFile (Reports > HMRC > View > VAT Liabilities and Payments)

If the payment you made is not shown, you would need to speak to HMRC (Also check what the previous HMRC agent told you as the screenshot I have given is for a return submitted 10/03/2023)
