Just checked Box 4 on VAT Return for December 2020 and although not due to be submitted just yet, the figure on Box 4 (Vat reclaimed on purchases) seems much higher than normal for our small business. How can I download a report showing all of the purchases/VAT that make up the Box 4 figure. Gone into Chart of Accounts and code 2201 has a different total figure for December. Differs by £600 approx
The “export” button on the vat return preparation form will download a CSV with the full details. Are you on cash accounting? Because if so that might explain the difference - the control accounts are always on accrual basis but the cash accounting VAT return is based on the payment dates rather than the invoice dates.
