i am trying to do my 2nd tax return.
when i put in the date for the return
i.e
01/11/2015 to 31/01/2016 it includes purchases and sales from the previous period.
how do i stop this happening as it makes the return figures wrong.

VAT isn’t really my area on the system, but I’ll try my best to help!
Have you previously submitted a return for the last period through QuickFile? Are you on the cash or accrual VAT scheme?

If it is your first return, have check that you have the correct start date entered onto the system, as per this warning (you’ll see this on the VAT return itself if it’s your first return):
Your First VAT Return on QuickFile
Please note that transactions entered into QuickFile before the VAT period will automatically be pulled into this return unless you specify a start date in the VAT settings. This is the date from which you are using QuickFile to produce your VAT returns not the date you became registered for VAT.
