VAT return not importing invoice data

I have submitted many VAT returns to HMRC using Quickfile, with the system extracting the data from the invoices in the Quickfile system.

For some reason this has simply stopped happening. In the “prepare VAT return” screen there are no data - no numbers - in the draft VAT return. There are 4 invoices in the period [May Jun Jul 2023] all of which are present in the period on the Quickfile system without error.

I have disconnected and reconnected Quickfile authority at the HMRC site, as one page recommended. No difference. Just a mystery why the VAT return is not pulling the information from the invoices as it normally does.

Hello @MRM

As you are on cash accounting, the payment date (Tax point) is used to assign invoices to the returns.

I have take a look at your account and I can see the 4 invoices you mention were all paid on 03/09/2023.

As it stands these invoices will fall into the 1 Aug 2023 - 31 Oct 2023 return because of the payment dates.

If the payment date is incorrect you can edit it in the bank screen.

Indeed. Dates of payment wrongly entered out of period of applicable VAT return period. All works, return submitted. Thank you very much !
