I seem to be having problem submitting my VAT return this month.
Is anyone else battling to submit due to Authentication Failure…or is it just me?
I don’t believe my credentials have changed - but when I logged into their .gov website they strongly encouraged setting up a 2-factor log-in. Could this introduction be causing issues?
It sounds like there is an issue either with the credentials or with the account itself. The error being returned is usually along the lines of:
Authentication Failure. The supplied user credentials failed validation for the requested service.
Which suggests it’s usually one of these that’s the issue:
Please re-enter your details and double check them and your account
