Virgin Money banking feed question

Hi Quickfile team :slight_smile:

I’m fed up with your the lack of banking feed support for Co-operative Business accounts. I see that you do support feeds for Virgin Money accounts and since they’re now owned by Nationwide they tick my ethical criteria box.

Before I go and open an account could you please confirm that you support open banking feeds from Virgin Money’s “M Account for Business”?

You do, but I’ve also read a few posts on here people who have been unable to connect their Virgin Money accounts to Quickfile, hence why i ask. Could you please check for this specific account type?

We can not comment on specific account types.

If it helps The login screen from the bank feed which links to QuickFile states it’s for accounts with sort code starting 05 or 82 (Which seems to be the M accounts based on what I can find)

This is something I would reccomend confirming with the bank.

Thanks for pointing me to that info. I contacted the Virgin Money Open Banking team and got this very helpful reply, which I think means Quickfile needs to be updated to use the right terminology:
Thank you for your enquiry. Our accounts have sort codes beginning with 05, 82 or 08 and we can confirm Quickfile Accountancy Software can be connected to all of them.

Please accept our apologies for the confusing way Quickfile have listed Virgin Money in their list of banks. Following the merger between Virgin Money and Clydesdale bank a few years ago we have two separate systems for our accounts and, in line with that, we also have two open banking services.

We request that open banking providers like Quickfile use the following narrations, but some don’t which can be confusing:

Virgin Money – referred to as ‘Virgin Money merged accounts’ in your screenshot

Virgin Money Credit Cards – referred to as ‘Virgin Money legacy’ in your screenshot

Once you open your account and your account details are confirmed, you will just need to choose the relevant ‘Virgin Money’ option to connect your account.

The relevant sort code disambiguation info for business, club and charity accounts is:
