VRN number

Hi
I am trying to submit 3 Vat returns but none will go through. When I prepare a Vat return it comes up with a VRN number & states vat number wrong/not set up for MTD.
When I look in HMRC there are 2 online accounts set up. One on the 29th July & one on 31st July. When I try & submit through here its states not set up for MTD.
Can somebody contact me to help.

Have you definitely registered for MTD on the HMRC website, have you received the confirmation email, and does your HMRC account show a “vat through software” section? And if so have you definitely connected the correct tax account to QuickFile (as an organisation, not an individual) and configured your VAT settings to use the right account?

There have been issues with a delay with signing up for MTD. If you have had the confirmation email from HMRC it may be worth getting in touch with them.

The error you are getting is shown either if the wrong gateway account has been linked or the MTD sign up hasn’t been completed.

Please, could someone tell me what I can do? I have spent an entire week fumbling around with this software to finally be in a position to submit my return and this is the message I got yesterday, so I have waited 24 hours and am still stuck. The VAT office phone number just rings and rings!!!

“You are not yet authorised to view this report for the VRN 313397508 . Please ensure your VAT number is correct and you have connected the corresponding HMRC Tax Account. If you have recently enrolled on the MTD scheme please allow 24 hours for HMRC systems to update.”

Hi @Chris_Leighton I have moved this to a similar thread. There have been some issues. Can you confirm that you have signed up with HMRC and received their confirmation email?
