Asymmetric Accounting Periods

Due to new electoral boundaries coming into force on 1st October, I am having to prepare accounts for asymmetric periods.

Our normal accounting year is 1/1 to 31/12

This year, I need to prepare a set of accounts for the period 1 JAN to 30th Sept 2023
Next year, I (or my sucessor) needs to prepare accounts for the 15 month period from 1st Oct 2023 to 31 December 2024.

Advise on how to accomplish this in Quickfiule would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @Mike

When you are ready to do the year end Sept 2023.

  • Adjust the “Next Year End Date” to 30/09/2023.
  • Run the year end as normal.

Work through the first 12 months of your 15 month year as normal, when you reach month 12

  • Adjust the “Next Year End Date” to 31/12/2024.
  • Run the year end as normal.
