Hi QF team,

As documented here: Co-op bank statement import needs updateing

QF is currently out of date, it doesn’t import the current formats of statements output from Co-op online business banking. It’s been like this for years now. Please update QF to match one of the formats that Co-op use.

It is being worked on at present.

We’ll be releasing an update within the next few weeks (depending on testing and verification) that will help with this.

Any update on this? We have just opened a Co-Op bank account and switching from Santander (due to newly introduced charges) and I am not looking forward to having to enter each transaction manually…..

None as of yet, we have also been trying to get a bank feed set up with CO-OP but we are not having much luck due to slow responses and issues on their part.

Regarding the CSV

Thanks @madbilly, I used the search transactions screen & downloaded a CSV. Unfortunately this option only includes transactions made previous to today and requires lots of clicks to ensure that only the correct account (rather than all accounts which is the default) and dates are included. It’s also necessary to upload as “other” and then modify the columns.

It appears that the Co-Op Bank isn’t quite as switched on as some of the others when it comes to providing easy downloads for accounting software.

I think that I may have to go back to doing it all manually.

A CSV statement should only include the data (and possibly column headings), it it looks like the bank statement (e.g. extra headers) they would need to be stripped out first.

You could use AI to reformat the data for you, its usually good at this.

Choose a tool such as CHAT GPT or Gemini and give it the statement

Ask it to “convert the attached statement into a suitable CSV format for QuickFile, e.g. I only want a CSV with columns for date(dd/mm/yyyy), Description/Ref, Money in, Money out only include transactions for account [enter relevant account] and for the period [enter date range]”

You can then import using the “Other” option

Thanks @QFSteve I know that it’s a Co-op Bank problem - maybe now that they have been bought by Coventry BS their systems might get updated although I’m not holding my breath!

Previously I have been downloading the export, removing all of the extraneous stuff, converting to csv and then importing on a custom made “please select your bank”, however today it hasn’t worked so I think Co-op Bank has changed their format again. I have made a new custom one. Hopefully they won’t change it again!
