Connecting my VAT account (error)

I connected my HMRC VAT account yesterday, and the following comes up every time I try to create a new VAT return.

“You are not yet authorised to view this report for some long alpha-numeric thing. Please ensure your VAT number is correct and you have connected the corresponding HMRC Tax Account. If you have recently enrolled in the MTD scheme please allow 24 hours for HMRC systems to update.”

It’s been well over 24hrs and I can’t find anything on the actual HMRC portal that asked me to confirm. Any ideas?

Please can you confirm if you have registered through your HMRC Tax Account and received the confirmation email from them?
Signing up for Making Tax Digital this explains how to sign up.

Once you have received the confirmation email from HMRC it can then take up to 72 hours to complete the link with your QuickFile account.
