Hi, I have a reoccuring invice set up on quickfile that is for a customer that is set up with a directdebit mandate in gocardless the systems are both linked and my other direct debits work fine for other customers can you tell me why this one is failing and giving me this error when i can go into gocardless and take the payment there.
i get this error:
A Direct Debit request of GBP x was not authorised for y The pre-authorisation has been revoked or exceeded.
not sure why it says GBP here as it is invoiced in CAD
all my other customers are uk based this one is in canada but my other past canadian clients didnt have any issue.
This is likely to be the reason. Only BACS Direct Debits are supported between QuickFile and GoCardless, and they only support GBP. Any other currency would cause a failure on GoCardless which is triggering an invalid mandate error.
As QuickFile only supports GBP invoices with BACS direct debit, any other currencies or mandate type would have to be triggered through GoCardless directly.
However, you’re welcome to start a Feature Request for this particular feature and we can certainly consider it as part of future development
did bit more research the CAD directdebit in gocardless is a pad
is there no way to set this up to work with quickfile as the whole point in me using a accounts package that integrates with gocardless is to automate things and cut down on my work load else whats the point in using IT
I can’t provide anything concrete at this time, but I would recommend adding your vote to the feature request thread so we know how much interest is in this feature.
If it’s not a BACS direct debit, at this time, it isn’t possible to automate this within QuickFile, unfortunately.
As I mentioned above, this isn’t something we support at the moment. We only support GBP / BACS direct debit with GoCardless. But your feature request is the right way to go so we can monitor interest in this request.
>so how should i approach this then how do i get quickfile to trigger the payment
As Mathew has stated. This is notsupported and QuickFile can not trigger the payment (As QuickFile only supports GBP invoices with BACS direct debit, any other currencies or mandate type would have to be triggered through GoCardless directly.).
It may be supported in future, if there is enough interest which is why he encouraged you to add your vote to the feature request.
