It is becoming increasingly frustrating getting timed out in the middle of quotes, invoicing etc, every 2 hours, this may not sound alot but I spend alot of time using quickfile, getting timed out at least 4 times a day every day is now beyond a joke, surely this can be changed to time out after a set time of inactivity, even if this was set to 1 hour of inactivity this would prevent the unecessary interuptions on a daily basis!
I am sure I am not the only one who find this frustrating.
It’s never been resolved or improved AFAIK and I agree that it is extremely frustrating. The ideal solution would be to allow each company to set their own security preference for a timeout. After all, we’re all grown ups and can easily be warned about the possible dangers of changing the default value.
For us, having all of our laptops encrypted and with 2FA enabled for our QuickFile accounts, I would happily set the timeout to at least 24 hours, probably longer. This indeed used to be the case, as I could start working on a quote one evening and then come back to it the following day and it be ready to continue editing where I’d left it before shutting the laptop to head to bed!
We have made an update here which should resolve this. All being well, this will be live from tomorrow.
I don’t think relaxing this completely is feasible from both a security point of view, but naturally we don’t want it logging you out when you’re in the middle of something, or as you describe. So hopefully, this update will resolve this for you.
There were some tweaks made to the handling of the session expiry. I’m not able to release too much detail, but I would kindly ask you to monitor this, and if you continue to experience issues, please drop @QFSupport a private message with some account details and what you were doing when you were logged out.
